Representatives
of tour operators need to obtain a "Tour
Operator Rep." visa.
This type of visa is multiple-entry, and allows them
to stay up to 6 months a year without having a work
permit. However, they will need to apply for a work
permit if they are intending to stay in Turkey more
than 6 months a year. (For information on work permits,
please contact the Office of the Labour Attaché
on 0207 591 6918.)
Please note that this visa can be issued
once in a period of 12 months.(i.e. once a person is
issued such a visa, he/she will not be able to re-apply
for this type of visa within the following 12-month
period.)
Important note: British tour operators are not required to obtain this visa through this Consulate General. That is, they can obtain a 3-month-sticker type multiple visa at the port of entry in Turkey and after their 3 months visa expires, they can apply to the local security directorate to obtain tour operator visa. They are still required, however, to obtain a residence permit from the local police headquarters after they are issued a tour operator visa. For the year 2007, 6 month residence permit fee for British nationals is 255.60 Turkish Liras (approximately 95 GBP)
The following documents will be required
to apply to this Consulate for such a visa.
- a letter from the tour operator/travel agency
in Turkey addressed to this Consulate. The letter
should state the current position of the visa applicant,
his purpose of visit and his duration of stay (up
to 6 months).
- Visa application form "Must be filled
in FULL"

- £4 administrative fee (for 1-2 passports) and
£8 administrative fee (for 3 and more passports)
- A self-addressed envelope (no stamp is necessary)
to receive your passport back by post.( if you wish
to have your passport returned by post, you
should submit your documents to this Consulate General
at least two weeks before your departure for Turkey).
